What we collect, and why

The Serendib Endowment collects very little personal information. This page sets out what we hold, how it is used, and how to have it corrected or removed.

What we collect

Contributors Name, contact details, and a record of contributions received. Collected when you contribute or contact us.
Members Name, an email or postal address for notices, and the dates membership started and ended. The constitution requires the company to keep this register.
Enquiries Whatever you tell us when you write, call, or complete the contact form.
This website Nothing. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and no advertising trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request. Where a page carries a video, nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play; if you do, YouTube receives your IP address and the video is served from its no-cookie domain.

How we use it

To administer contributions, to send contributors updates after distributions and the annual report, to maintain the register of members, and to answer enquiries. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except where required by law or by a regulator.

Publishing contributor names

Contributors are listed on this site by name only where they have given permission, and amounts are kept private unless the contributor has agreed otherwise. Anonymity is available on request, at any time, including after a contribution has been made and listed.

Photographs

Photographs of the people our work reaches are published only with the consent of those shown, or of a parent or guardian where the person is a child. Consent is sought at the time the photograph is taken, and covers publication on this site.

We do not publish names, ages, locations beyond a district, or any other detail that would identify an individual alongside their photograph. Anyone who has given consent may withdraw it at any time by writing to us, and the photograph will be removed.

How long we keep it

The constitution requires company records to be retained for at least seven years, including details of people who have stopped being members. Contribution records are kept for as long as required by law and for the fund's own accounting.

Access, correction and complaints

To see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to ask us to remove it where we are not required to keep it, write to info@serendibendowment.org or to PO Box 154, Carina QLD 4152.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, our complaints process applies, and you may also raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

This page describes our practice rather than creating any contractual obligation. It will be updated if our practice changes.
