Sasenka Abeysooriya and Dulip Ranasinghe were guests of the Sri Lankan Program on 4EB 98.1 FM, Brisbane's multicultural community radio station, to talk about why the endowment exists and how it works.

Most of the conversation was about the difference between giving once and giving permanently: why the corpus is never spent, how a modest fund can keep distributing indefinitely, and what that means for communities in Sri Lanka that need support long after any particular appeal has closed.

Our thanks to 4EB and to the Sri Lankan Program team for having us, and for the work they do carrying conversations like this one to Brisbane's Sri Lankan community. Community radio reaches people no advertisement would, and it does it because volunteers turn up week after week.
