Founding fund passes the halfway mark

A$28,500 has been committed by eight founding contributors, taking the founding fund past half of its A$50,000 target.

Announcement

Eight founding contributors have now committed A$28,500 to the endowment, taking the founding fund past half of its A$50,000 target.

Every one of those contributions is permanent. None of it will be spent. It forms part of the corpus, which the constitution requires to be preserved intact, and it will generate distributions to Sri Lanka every year from here on.

The A$50,000 target is a starting point rather than a ceiling. It is the level at which annual distributions become large enough to be worth the cost of making them, and the fund will continue to accept contributions well beyond it.

Contributors are listed with their permission and amounts are kept private unless a contributor has agreed otherwise. Several have chosen to remain anonymous.
